May 28th Letter From Pastor Kevin Pruett:
Hello CGFC Family!
This Sunday, May 31st we will begin gathering in various small groups, some at the church, and some in homes. One of my favorite chapters in the Bible is found in Psalm 133 that tells us, “How good and pleasant it is, when brothers and sisters dwell in unity.” We have an opportunity to re-engage once again, in unity, as a body of believers in small groups. This will be a powerful and pivotal time for CGFC as each group gathers to connect, pray, and read scripture together.
As we find ourselves face to face with one another again, it is important for us to care for one another well with the grace and love of Jesus. In coming back together, I wanted to share some important details as we find ourselves with others.
First of all, safety is very important during this time of re-engaging, which means if anyone has a fever, cough, sore throat, or any other symptoms of being ill, please stay home until you are feeling better. Secondly, we encourage each group to follow CDC guidelines and government recommendations of social distancing ourselves during our small group time together. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, please feel free to do so. I encourage you to be creative with your groups, and if the weather permits, maybe go outside with your group. Keep in mind we are not being fearful, but rather careful, as the Lord would want us to be.
We are not equipped to include children in our small groups at this time, but we invite them to join our Sunday 9AM kids virtual group via Zoom. For more information please contact our children’s director Angela Pearson at Angela@cg4.tv.
We will also have a youth small group beginning Wednesday, June 3rd from 7-8PM at the church.
Finally, I believe this exciting time of re-engaging in small groups will be our norm for the next several weeks, as we continue navigating the next steps for a corporate gathering in the future. Please continue praying with us regarding those next steps.
“May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May He turn his face toward you, and give you peace.”
